Who am I?
My name is Carmen Piras and I am a researcher at York University. I graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at the University of Cagliari (Italy) and after a PhD at the University of Kent and a Postdoc at KU Leuven (Belgium) I am now working in the beautiful York (UK). My research focuses on hydrogels based on small molecules for biological applications. Science, research and writing have always been a passion for me, that’s why I try to combine research with science communication. In my spare time I am a blogger and I love studying languages (spanish and greek are my challenges at the moment), going to the gym and travelling.
